POP MART sells designer toys. Not just any old designer toys, but possibly some of the coolest collectibles currently in existence. Certainly some of the most desired. The chain prides itself in its cool and vast stores in every single location. With around 450 stories in 30 countries, they are popular indeed.
In terms of popularity regarding today's fans, there are Disney collectables available, then good Sanrio toys, and right now, it is very much the moment for Pop Mart and cult brand SkullPanda. So, as one can imagine, a signing at PopMart by SKULLPANDA creator Xiong Mao, the buzz was undeniable.
Ever so humbly dressed in a black hanfu-style wrap top and skirt with a red rose, she happily posed for photos with those that wanted their collectable dolls signed. These aren't just any old collectables: the moment these new and ever-so-cool toy dolls get released, they sell out close to instantly.
We dare any visitor to step into a POP MART store and walk back out again without being touched by inspiration, if not by the toys' addictive must-have nature, because they have the most adorably cute and cool SKULLPANDA creations, and much more. When it comes to SKULLPANDA, it is all because of Xiong Mao's vision.
People queued around the block, and she even walked around outside so that her fans in the queue could see and greet her. Many have a great passion for doll collecting and dolls that have an exceptional touch of beauty in their design, with so many fans simply drawn to their sense of style and artistry. Inside the store it is a wonder, with the most brilliant and imaginative collectibles on display. From big to small, there is no shortage of items you could want.
The large screen display overhead showed video after video of SKULLPANDA as if they're music videos, and talking of music... the soundtrack to these are the some of the most popular K-Pop tracks. Both the classics and the latest hits, for nothing but a great vibe for all.
It was a pleasure to be in attendance and have a thoroughly good time. Now imagine the fans that queued up: they were ecstatic.
